Spring is Here!

We saw some Spring flowers - tulips!

First we drew an outline of our tulips, using felt pen.

Next, we used watercolours to paint.  We painted the green leaves and stems first.

Finally we chose Spring colours for the flowers.  Here are our colourful tulips.  Aren't they beautiful?!

Aboriginal Week

This week we are learning more about the Aboriginal culture through a variety of activities.  Here is a program of upcoming events.  Please join us for the Community Feasting evening on Wednesday.  If the weather is nice, we will be eating in the courtyard.  If it is raining the feasting will move inside.  THINK SUN!!

An inukshuk is a stone figure.  The Inuit make inuksuit for a variety of reasons:  to help people find their way, to mark a place of respect or memorial for a special person, or to mark a place where fish other food can be found.

We made our own inukshuk by tearing black construction paper.  Paper tearing can be very tricky, but we all mastered this new skill!

Vancouver Symphony Orchestra Trip

After our trip to the VSO, we talked about our experience - what we remembered, what we saw, what we felt, and what we enjoyed the most.
